Lung Cancer
- Growth of cancer cells in the lungs.
- Intervention may include surgical removal of cancerous tumours.
Lung Nodules
- Small, round, and mostly benign growth in the lungs.
- Monitoring the growth of nodules and only surgically intervening if risks are presented.
Pneumothorax
- Complete or partial collapsed lung.
- The severity of bullae ruptures must be assessed to determine appropriate intervention.
Pectus Excavatum
- A chest deformity in which the breastbone sinks into the chest.
- Surgical intervention is necessary if there is compression of the heart and lungs.
Tumour
- Non-cancerous growths that may require surgical removal.
- Examples include benign lung tumours, chest wall tumours and mediastinal tumours.
Empyema Thoracic
- Collection of pus in the chest cavity.
